Colin Carr Masterclass

Selected ICMA chamber groups will have the opportunity to participate in a masterclass with our world renowned guest artist, Colin Carr.

I will probably talk about this festival so much to my friends back in Juneau that they will get tired of hearing about it!

ICMA Summer Intensive three subdivisions

Beginner

Tuition: $990

Minimum age 10: be proficient at or above Suzuki Book 4 or equivalent.
Important: Please be advised by your teacher.

ICMA is the only music festival I’ve gone to where the students and the faculty chose to hang out outside of our daily festival activities. All my teachers were not only my coaches but also my friends.

ADULT AMATEUR

Tuition: $1090

Open to all levels.

Pre-formed groups preferred.

If you are applying to the adult amateur program as a pre-formed group (from min 2 player to max 6 players), please fill out the pre-formed group application.

It was gratifying to hear all the talented young people play even more amazingly after a week of working with coaches from Julliard, Stony Brook, etc. It was such a treat for me to be immersed in music for that week, and to work with Phil Setzer!

Admission Requirements

Application deadline: March 31, 2026

Completed Application Form — Individual applicants should complete the Individual Application Form. Pre-formed ensembles should complete the Pre-formed Group Application Form.
Audition video:
- Individual Applicants: Submit a 10–15 minute video featuring two contrasting works of your choice. Piano accompaniment is preferred but not required.
- Pre-formed Groups: Submit a video recording of your group performing one work, no longer than 10 minutes.
Videos should be submitted via YouTube link. Applicants residing in China may submit videos via Baidu Netdisk.
Application fee: $75
Tuition fee: due May 15 after notification of acceptance.

Application Fee

Individual fees: An application fee of $75 must be submitted with the Application Form.
Pre-formed Group fees: An application fee of $75/individual must be submitted with the Application Form.

Financial Aid/Work Study Opportunity

Financial aid opportunities are determined on a case-by-case basis, and both merit and need based. These funds are generously made possible by ICMA’s supporters in the community.

To apply, students must first register and be accepted to the program and pay the full tuition fee. Once the scholarship amount has been decided by the ICMA Scholarship Committee, families will be notified and reimbursed for the approved amount before the start of ICMA summer intensive.

Payment

Full tuition payment and confirmation of attendance are due May 15, 2026.

Accepted students will receive tuition payment instructions with their acceptance letters.

Room and Board

The ability to sign up for room and board will be provided during the tuition fee payment.

Room
For applicants who need room and board (12 nights from 08/04/2026 to 08/16/2026), there is an additional fee of $930 (shared double-bed room) or $1380 (single-bed room).

*For applicants who are under 18, who must stay with an adult in a shared room.

Board
Lunch will be held daily and is mandatory. Students can bring their own food or pre-order lunch through ICMA. For applicants who want to pre-order lunch, there is an additional fee of $250.

9:00-12:00 pm – Orchestra /Large ensemble Rehearsals/beginner group workshop

12:00-1:30 pm – Lunch

1:30-2:30 pm – Private lessons/Chamber group coaching/rehearsals

3:00-4:00 – Individual Practice

4:00-5:00 pm -ICMA Workshops/Masterclasses

7:00-9:00 pm – Concerts/Reading Party/ICMA activities/Free time!
